Susan Chelagat is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Water Sector Trust Fund (WaterFund). She represents the Attorney General on the Board of Trustees of the WaterFund.

Ms. Susan Chelagat is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 2006, with over nineteen years of post-admission experience in litigation, legal advisory, corporate governance, policy formulation, regulatory enforcement and family law. She currently serves as Deputy Chief State Counsel at the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice, where she has provided legal and policy advice to the Government for over 16 years.

She has extensive expertise in drafting and reviewing legal instruments, coordinating inter-agency legal and policy matters, and managing legal assignments. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to integrity, fairness, transparency and sound decision-making while contributing to the advancement of effective, accountable and responsive public service.

Ms. Chelagat holds a Master of Arts in International Conflict Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Moi University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She has also undertaken the Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) and Senior Management Course (SMC) at the Kenya School of Government, enhancing her leadership, management and strategic decision-making capabilities.
