
Susan Chelagat is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Water Sector Trust Fund (WaterFund). She represents the Attorney General on the Board of Trustees of the WaterFund.
Ms. Susan Chelagat is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, admitted to the Bar in 2006, and has over 19 years of post-admission experience in litigation, legal advisory, policy formulation and public sector administration. She currently serves as Deputy Chief State Counsel at the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice, where she has provided strategic legal and policy advice to the Government for more than 16 years.
Ms. Chelagat is an accomplished public service professional with extensive expertise in the rule of law, corporate governance, institutional accountability, statutory compliance, policy development, dispute resolution and administrative oversight. Her career demonstrates a strong commitment to integrity, fairness, transparency and sound decision-making, with a focus on strengthening effective, accountable and responsive public service.
Ms. Chelagat holds a Master of Arts in International Conflict Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Moi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She has also undertaken the Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) and the Senior Management Course (SMC) at the Kenya School of Government, further strengthening her leadership, management and strategic decision-making capabilities.
